Domestic Sharp Provolone

Provolone originated in southern Italy, but regional cheesemakers in the north were soon won over by the cheese's smooth, moderately hard texture and slightly tangy flavor. When Italian cheesemakers immigrated to America, they brought the Provolone tradition with them. Our pear-shaped Wax & Rope Provolone is made from domestic cow's milk and features the mild flavor and creamy texture of the Italian original. Wax & Rope Provolone makes a terrific antipasto, where it pairs wonderfully with rustic cured meats such as Sopressata.
