Ingredients

Directions

  • Preheat oven to broil at 500F.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add gnocchi and cook until they float to the top, about 4 minutes. Drain, reserving ½ cup of the hot water. Rinse with cold water to prevent gnocchi from sticking.
  • To cook the shrimp, melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, lemon zest and juice. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook until shrimp are pink, about 2-3 minutes. Transfer shrimp to a plate and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until just fragrant. Whisk in the flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute. While whisking, slowly add the chicken broth, thyme and basil. Cook for 2 minutes to combine flavors. Stir in the cream and Parmigiano-Reggiano until slightly thickened, about 1-2 minutes. If the mixture is too thick, add hot gnocchi water until desired consistency.
  • Stir in shrimp, gnocchi, lemon and orange zest. Sprinkle with Gruyére and bake under broiler until cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  • Remove from oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Serve.
