  • In a mixing bowl, beat the egg with salt and pepper. Place the flour and the breadcrumbs in 2 separate small shallow bowls.
  • Dip each grape leaf into the flour, then the egg mixture and then breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.
  • Fill a saucepan with 2-3 inches of oil. Set at medium-high. Once hot, place grape leaves in the pan using tongs. Fry in batches, careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry grape leaves until golden brown, turning occasionally to fry each side.
  • Remove from oil and place on a paper towel lined plate to drain.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the dipping sauce. Combine yogurt, mint, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice and anchovies in a small bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Arrange grape leaves on a serving platter. Serve garnished with lemon wedges and a side of the dipping sauce.
