  • Preheat oven to 400F. Butter a 9” springform pan.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain well.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and sausage. Sauté until browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally. Add soffritto, garlic, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes and simmer until thickened, about 20 minutes. Stir in hot pasta and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
  • Pour pasta mixture into a springform pan and top with mozzarella. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is hot and bubbly. Remove from the oven and allow to stand for 15 minutes.
  • Run a knife around the edge to loosen and then unmold. Cut into wedges and serve.
