Place bread on a cutting board. Spread butter on one side of each slice.
In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, place 2 bread slices, butter side down. Top with 2 slices of cheese. Next, top each with 2 tablespoons of tomato bruschetta. Sprinkle with basil leaves. Top each with the second slice of bread, butter side up.
Cook until the underside becomes golden brown, about 4 minutes, and then flip. Gently press down on the sandwich to encourage even browning and to help melt the cheese.
Once the second side is golden brown and the cheese is melted, remove from the skillet and serve.
