Affogato: Ice Cream & Italian Espresso Dessert
Affogato, the word for “drowned” in Italian, makes the perfect after-dinner alternative to coffee and dessert! This simple treat is a delicious way to entertain your dinner guests, long after the main course. If you don't brew espresso, no fear! DeLallo's Instant Espresso Powder is a perfect substitute!
- 1 tablespoon DeLallo Instant Espresso Powder
- 4 tablespoons boiling hot water
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- Whipped cream
- 1 DeLallo Savoiardi ladyfinger
To make the espresso shot, mix the instant espresso powder with the hot water and stir until dissolved.
Scoop ice cream into small glass and pour the hot espresso shot over the ice cream. Top with whipped cream.
Serve with a Savoiardi Ladyfinger cookie, whole or crumbled on top.
Makes 1 affogato.
