While bread on a stick may seem strange, this Italian-inspired appetizer can give your dinner table a fun and creative look with the simplicity of skewering a tasty garlicky Italian loaf. Your family and guests won't be able to keep their hands off of them! Ingredients:
Directions:In a small saucepan, heat olive oil, butter and garlic until butter has melted. Cut Italian loaf into 1 1/2-inch cubes. In a bowl, combine bread cubes with butter-garlic mixture. Toss until well-coated. Sprinkle with freshly grated Asiago. Using (6 to 8) 10-inch skewers, thread bread cubes. While you can heat bread on a grill (weather permitting) or simply the racks of your oven (which can get messy)--we used a grill pan on the stovetop. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes. *Wooden skewers are required to soak in water for about 30 minutes before using them. Serves 6 to 8 |
