Pasta with tuna sauce is easier to make than ever thanks to this recipe. Just create a sauce with our San Marzano style tomatoes, add tuna and lemon zest and toss with pasta for an Italian dinner that would make your nonna proud!

Ingredients

1 (1-pound) package DeLallo Penne Ziti Pasta
1 (28-ounce) can DeLallo Imported San Marzano Tomatoes
4 cloves garlic
1 sweet onion, cut in half
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or more to taste
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons DeLallo Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 (6-ounce) cans DeLallo Tuna in Olive Oil, drained
Zest of 1 lemon

Directions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Meanwhile, place tomatoes, garlic, onion, red pepper flakes and salt into a large pan over high heat. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 25 minutes, until the tomato sauce comes together. Remove garlic and onion and discard.
Add pasta, tuna and lemon zest to the sauce. Toss until combined and serve.
