Top Tips

Tiramisu tastes great when made in advance, as it allows the flavors to develop. Be sure to wrap tightly and refrigerate. This can be done for up to 3 days.

To freeze, create the recipe as is, except for the dusting of cocoa powder. Be sure to wrap it tightly with plastic wrap and then aluminum foil. Tiramisu can be frozen for up to 3 months. To thaw the dessert, move it to the refrigerator and give it at least 12 hours (or overnight) before serving. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Tiramisu Kit: FAQ

What Is Mascarpone Cheese?

Mascarpone cheese is a fresh cow’s milk cheese that hails from Northern Italy. Mascarpone is soft and creamy with a flavor that is sweet and rich. It is often thought of as Italy’s version of cream cheese, as it is used in both sweet and savory recipes. Mascarpone might be best known in the U.S. as the key ingredient in the Italian dessert, Tiramisu.

Can I use a mixer to blend the mascarpone packet instead of a whisk?

You can use a mixer, if you’d like, but it isn’t necessary. A whisk is better at keeping the cream mix light and fluffy.

Can I make this in advance?

Yes, Tiramisu is best served chilled, so it is the perfect dessert to make ahead and keep chilled in the refrigerator.
