DeLallo Orzo Tub features the authentic Italian pasta you love packaged in a convenient screw-top container to keep your Orzo fresh! A small, yet versatile pasta cut, Orzo is named for its “barley” shape and size. Once, this tiny pasta, or pastina, was thought of as just a soup cut, but Orzo shines in so many kitchen creations—from pasta salads to cheesy side dishes to baked pasta recipes.
DeLallo Pasta is an authentic Italian pasta made in the birthplace of pasta, a region near Naples along the Amalfi Coast. For us, pasta making is an art that begins with the best quality durum wheat and generations of pasta-making experience. A wheat is selected for its high gluten index, gluten content and protein content. This superior wheat is carefully milled into a coarsely ground semolina flour and then combined with fresh, mineral-rich mountain spring water. Pasta is extruded with artisanal bronze dies to create that perfect sauce-hugging texture. To reproduce the traditional way of making pasta, noodles are dried slowly at low temperatures. All of these methods go into creating an exceptional pasta that always cooks up al dente.
Orzo is the perfect size for broth-based soups like the classic Italian Wedding Soup or the vegetable-heavy Minestrone. More than just a soup cut, though, this tiny pasta (or pastina) is perfect for cold pasta dishes, baked pasta recipes and cheesy side dishes. Create a picnic-worthy Greek pasta salad with fresh veggies, feta cheese, Calamata olives, spinach, lemon and olive oil. Use Orzo as a substitute for rice.
Orzo is a small pasta, or pastina, that is named for its small “barley” shape. It is often confused with rice, but Orzo is a pasta made with durum wheat semolina flour. Where it was once used mainly as a soup cut, Orzo has come into its own as a versatile pasta shape that shines in everything from cold picnic pasta to baked pasta to rice-pilaf-style side dishes.

There is no difference between the DeLallo Orzo Tub and the DeLallo Orzo packaged in bags. It is the same pasta, but our Orzo Tub is larger in size and packaged in a convenient, screw-top plastic tub for ease of use in the kitchen.
Both DeLallo Semolina Orzo and DeLallo Organic Whole-Wheat Orzo are authentic Italian pasta made with durum wheat. The difference is that whole-wheat pasta is made with the entire kernel of wheat. The resulting pasta is heartier in taste and texture, and healthier.
The difference between DeLallo Semolina Orzo and Gluten-Free Orzo is in the ingredients. Semolina pasta is made with durum wheat that has been ground into semolina flour. As you know, wheat (flour) contains gluten. DeLallo also makes a gluten-free option for your favorite Italian pasta. It is made with a blend of corn and rice in a separate facility for no risk of cross-contamination.
