Creamy Tomato Sauce

This easy-to-make (and easy-to-love) creamy tomato sauce recipe gets its irresistible texture and flavor from its dose of dairy—butter and heavy cream. We love serving it up with long, hollow Bucatini noodles.

  • Place a large saucepan over low heat. Add the olive oil and onions. Cook until onions become translucent, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the tomato paste and salt, cook 4-5 minutes.
  • Add the cream and butter to the pan. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, bring 5 quarts of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain.
  • Add hot pasta to the sauce in the saucepan. Stir to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes to marry flavors.
  • Serve topped with freshly grated cheese.
