Silky Tomato and Cream Pasta Sauce With Bucatini

This easy-to-make (and easy-to-love) tomato sauce recipe gets its irresistible texture and flavor from its dose of dairy—butter and heavy cream. We love serving it up with long, hollow Bucatini noodles.

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place a large saucepan over low heat. Add the olive oil and onions. Cook until onions become translucent, about 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in the tomato paste and salt, cook 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add the cream and butter to the pan. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, bring 5 quarts of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain.
  5. Add hot pasta to the sauce in the saucepan. Stir to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes to marry flavors.
  6. Serve topped with freshly grated cheese.
