Cacio e Pepe Pizza

This pizza recipe is like nothing you’ve ever tried. Starring our famous Italian Pizza Dough Kit for exceptional pizzeria-style pizza at home, this simple and flavorful pie is inspired by the traditional pasta dish, Cacio e Pepe.

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine flour mix and yeast packet in a large mixing bowl with 1 1/4 cups lukewarm water. Stir with a fork until dough begins to form.
  2. Knead by hand for 3 minutes, or until dough is soft and smooth. Transfer to a clean, lightly oiled bowl and cover tightly with plastic wrap. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes. (After this step, you can refrigerate for use within 1-3 days.).
  3. Preheat the oven to 500F.
  4. Once the dough has risen, gently knead it into a ball. Dust a work surface with flour and roll out the dough using a rolling pin into a round circle.
  5. Bake dough on a pizza pan or baking sheet until golden, about 8 minutes. Remove from the oven. Evenly sprinkle with cheese, drizzle with oil and season with pepper. Continue to bake for 5 more minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
  7. Note: We also love to serve the pizza as an appetizer with our DeLallo Italian Tomato Bruschetta.
