Penne Ziti is the smooth sibling of the popular Penne Rigate. With an irresistibly smooth tube-like shape made to capture sauces, Penne Ziti is a well known pasta shape that is famous for its starring role in the cheesy baked pasta dish,  Baked Ziti.

DeLallo Pasta comes from the town where pasta was born, a region near Naples, at the beginning of the Amalfi Coast. The art of making our pasta begins with the very best quality wheat. We carefully choose wheat with the highest gluten index, gluten content and protein content. All of these characteristics affect how the pasta cooks, as well as its taste and texture. The durum wheat is milled into coarse ground semolina flour and then carefully kneaded with cold, fresh, mineral-rich mountain spring water. We dry our pasta slowly at low temperatures to reproduce the traditional way of making pasta. This method respects the ingredients, preserving the pasta’s color, texture and aroma.

  • Made in Italy with a select blend of superior durum wheat semolina boasting a high gluten content.
  • Extruded with traditional bronze dies to create a rougher surface made for capturing sauces.
  • Cooks up for that signature al dente texture.
  • Smooth tube-shaped pasta with square cut ends.

Kitchen and Usage Tips:

Penne Ziti is a versatile short cut ready to shine in many types of pasta dishes: from simple sauces of oil or butter and Parmesan cheese to creamy sauces to rich tomato sauces—and of course, the preparation that made it famous, the cheesy baked pasta dish, Baked Ziti. We love Penne Ziti pasta with traditional Southern Italian sauces like olive and caper Puttanesca Sauce and the fiery tomato Arrabbiata Sauce.
