Orecchiette with Spicy Sausage

Turn the heat up on your quick and easy weeknight meals with this pasta night favorite! Featuring fun little pasta scoops, our ready-to-use Passata Rustica Tomato Purée and spicy, savory crumbled sausage, this hearty dish is as delicious as it is simple to make!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. Meanwhile, heat skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage. Cook until browned, breaking into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon.
  3. Stir in the tomato purée, paste and ½ cup of water into the sausage and cook on medium heat for 20 minutes.
  4. Add hot cooked pasta into the pan with the sauce. Stir to coat. (Add hot starchy pasta water to thin the sauce, as desired).
  5. Divide into serving dishes. Serve sprinkled with fresh basil and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
