Orecchiette with Spicy Sausage
Turn the heat up on your quick and easy weeknight meals with this pasta night favorite! Featuring fun little pasta scoops, our ready-to-use Passata Rustica Tomato Purée and spicy, savory crumbled sausage, this hearty dish is as delicious as it is simple to make!
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
- Meanwhile, heat skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage. Cook until browned, breaking into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon.
- Stir in the tomato purée, paste and ½ cup of water into the sausage and cook on medium heat for 20 minutes.
- Add hot cooked pasta into the pan with the sauce. Stir to coat. (Add hot starchy pasta water to thin the sauce, as desired).
- Divide into serving dishes. Serve sprinkled with fresh basil and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
