Easy Italian Marinara

An Italian recipe for our favorite simple straight-forward tomato sauce perfect for pasta, pizza, meatballs, fried appetizers and more. The key to a good marinara is slowly sautéed onions and flavorful tomatoes. Slowly sautéed onions are super tender and release a subtle sweetness, unlike crunchy pungent overcooked onions. Unlike a slow simmer, cooking tomatoes quickly preserves their fresh tartness and gives sauces a bright tomato flavor.
